Medieval quayside wall, structural feature/wall consisting of re-used septaria blocks (destroyed), recorded in 1994.

The southern side of an E-W orientated ditch situated 18m beyond the town wall was defined in a small evaluation trench at 14 Vineyard Street. The location and datable finds suggest this is the outer side of Roman Colchester's town ditch.

Unusual post-medieval rectilinear trench recorded during Site B excavations in advance of the construction of Cunobelin Way (and the housing estate to the north), north of Gosbecks Archaeological Park, in 1995-6.

A Roman deposit (L10, not further investigated) in Test Pit (TP) 1 was sealed by a thick layer of dark greyish-brown post-Roman topsoil or ‘dark earth’ (L8). This layer was 650-700 mm thick and was fairly homogeneous up to the modern ground surface. A quantity of residual Roman finds, including several tesserae, were recovered from L8 in TP1.
