Tranchet axes found

Field walking in 2007 recovered 200 flints were recovered. Most of the flint was waste from flint working, i.e. trimming pieces, flakes or debitage. A number of cores or fragments of cores were found. A small proportion were completed tools (scrapers, blades, knives). The diagnostic pieces indicate a multi-period site, mainly Mesolithic with some later Neolithic activity.

Early prehistoric flints, Grooved ware and a Beaker sherd were found on the site.

Buried land surface with scatter of heat-shattered flints, struck flints and very sparse charcoal flecks.

A fieldwalking survey of 2.44ha. produced 178 finds (3,916g), including 36 struck flints dated from the Neolithic and Bronze Age (with one possible Mesolithic flint), concentrated on the northern edge of the field, and 26 pieces of Roman brick/tile, concentrated on the northern edge of the field and along the eastern side.
