Full Description

According to Laver's Diary, 'In Culver Street, opposite No 37 the sewer trench exposed a Roman wall running N-S., the top was 5ft from the surface and the width was 3ft 6". Though cut down by 4ft its base was not reached. The material was stone, with no tile. It showed on both sides of the trench'.<1>
This could be the same was as identified by Wire (see ECC259).<2>
