Full Description
Spendpenny Farm is a historic farmstead located to the north of the settlement of Great Tey and to the south of Swan Street. The site was first shown on the 1897-1904 Epoch 2 map to be a large detached site made up of eight buildings. Approximately 50% of the original buildings were demolished between 1923 and 1955. Among the surviving buildings is the Grade II listed C13 Spendpenny Farmhouse (LB Number: 1238816). The site has since split into the original farmhouse to the south and the auto repair shop to the north. Numerous modern building and extensions have also been added to the site in recent times. The original map showed a farm pond to the west of the site, but this has since been removed. <1>
