Full Description
Ivyhouse Farm is a historic farmstead located inside of the settlement of Marks Tey. It was first shown on the 1874-1887 Epoch 1 map to be a large detached site, made up of seven buildings. However, most of these buildings were demolished between 1904 and 1922, leaving only the Grade II listed C16 farmhouse, which has since become numbers 115 and 117 Coggeshall Road (LB Number: 1224549). It is unknown when the house split into two dwellings. The other buildings were demolished between 1904 and 1922, and the land has since been overlayed by the expansion of Marks Tey. The 1897-1904 Epoch 2 map shows the site to have four farm ponds around the site, but three of these seem to have been removed around the same time as the farm buildings, leaving only the single pond to the north of the site, located across Coggeshall Road. <1>
