Full Description
Upper Hill Farm is a historic farmstead located to the southeast of the settlement of Copford Green, first shown on the 1874-1887 Epoch 1 map. It was a large detached site, made up of 11 buildings. Over 90% of these buildings have been demolished between 1923 and 1955, leaving only the Grade II listed C15 Upper Hill Farmhouse (LB Number: 1239130) from the original buildings. There are a high number of modern buildings erected on the site, overlaying the footprint of the original buildings. These include a modern grainstore, and a building used for vehicle repairs. This makes it difficult to determine the use of the site, as it is difficult to say if the use is still agricultural or if it is now used for vehicle repairs. There is a farm pond to the south east of the site, which is the only historic landscape feature. <1>
