Full Description

Easthorpegreen Farm is a historic farmstead located to the northwest of the settlement of Easthorpe. It was first shown on the 1874-1887 Epoch 1 map. The farmstead was a large detached site made up of ten buildings, including the Grade II listed C17 Easthorpegreen Farmhouse (LB Number: 1238923). All the outbuildings were demolished between 1958 and 1966, leaving only the farmhouse remaining from the original farmstead. There has been a large number of modern buildings erected on the site, including a new stable block built to the northwest of the farmhouse around 1996. The site has been truncated slightly by the erection of a new residence by 1966 called Churchview House. This new site seems to take part of the land that used to belong to Easthorpegreen Farm. The farmhouse has been modified and renovated over the years, with the inclusion of a modern conservatory around 2000, a new single storey side extension built around 2009, and various alterations completed around 1959 and 1969. There were four farm ponds shown on the Epoch 1 map, but one has since been removed by 1966, leaving three located to the southern parts of the site. <1>
