Full Description

Badcock's Farm is a historic farmstead located to the west of the settlement of Easthorpe, first shonw on the 1874-1887 Epoch 1 map. The site was a large interlinked site, with two sets of interlinked buildings forming parallel lines to the west of the farmhouse. Over 60% of the original buildings have been demolished between 1923-1955, leving only a few outbuildings and the Grade II* listed late C15 farmhouse (LB Number: 1239073). There has been a small number of modern agricultural buildings have been built, suggesting that the change of use for the site has not changed from agricultural. Part of the site is missing from the Epoch 1 map, meaning that Epoch 2 had to be used to determine the entirity of the site. The main historic landscape feature is the partial moat that survives on the site, wrapping around the southern boundary of the farm. <1> <2>
