Full Description
In the northern (lower) part of the site, waterlogged wooden posts 110mm wide, were removed by machine during the digging of a sewer trench 900mm wide x 2.0m deep. It would seem (from the report) that no timbers were recovered for analysis. It is also unclear how many posts were encountered, and the exact location (along the sewer trench) is unclear. The report states that they were probably Iron Age (late prehistoric) or Roman but no certain dating was obtained. <1>
