Full Description
Wivenhoe Heath is shown on the 1777 Chapman & Andre Historic Map, located to the north of Wivenhoe. The heath is shown on this map to be an irregular shape, with an area of 121.2ha. Most of the heath falls outside of the borough, with only a small section inside its borders. Wivenhoe Heath does not appear on any other maps, and had been pacelled up and enclosed by the time of the First Edition 1:10,000 (1800).<1>
