Full Description
Old Heath Common is shown on the 1777 Chapman & Andre Historic Map, located south-east of Colchester. The common comprises three discrete areas, two roughly tirnagular areas to the west (6.5ha. and 2 ha. in area), labelled Old Heath, and another larger area within the floodplain, and bounded by the River Colne, c.21 ha. in area, labelled Old Heath Common (the former two areas are marked on the First Edition OS 1:10,000 map, but not the latter).<1>
