Full Description

Tye Green is shown on the County Series at 1:2500 Scale Epoch 1 Historic Map (1874-1887), located to the east of the settlement of Little Horkesley and to the northeast of the settlement of Great Horkesley. The green is a thin linear shape, with an area of 0.40ha. There are a number of buildings along the edge of the green.<1> Although the green is not labelled on Chapman & Andre's map, it does appear to have been illustrated, extended further south along Holly Lane to the junction with Boxted Road, and forming a trinagular shaped green. The green is still labelled on the modern map, but the green itself is no longer extant.
