Full Description

Hey Green is only shown on the 1777 Chapman & Andre Historic Map, located to the southwest of the settlement of Little Horkesley. The green is shown to be a linear shape following the sweeping curve of Workhouse Road to its junction with Vinesse Road. The map shows an number of buildings on the green edge, including Haygreen Farm. The Old Workhouse (labelled on the 1:2500 epoch 1 map) fronts the west side of the green.
The green is not recorded on the 1st edition 1:2500 map, and it must have been removed before 1874; consequently it is difficult to plot accurately against the modern map.<1>
