Full Description

Dowsland Green is originally shown on the County Series at 1:2500 Scale Epoch 2 Map (1897-1904), located to the southwest of the settlement of Great Tey. On this map the green is roughly triangular in shape, stretching east to west, with a small thin linear section stretching south along the road. It has an area of 0.4538ha. There was a small number of buildings situated around the green, though they all seem to have been demolished since this map was created. Some might have survived but it is impossible to tell. The modern look of the green is very similar to the historic map. However, there are a lot more houses in modern times. <1>
