Full Description

Long Green is originally shown on the 1777 Chapman & Andre Historic Map, located just south of the settlement of Marks Tey. The green is shown on this map to be linear, curving along the side of the road, c.0.7ha. In area. The map shows two collections of buildings on the edge of the green. One of these buildings seems to be the Grade II listed C18 Samsons Cottage (LB Number: 1224585) and Grade II listed C17 house The Green (LB Number: 1224586) (although the latter cannot . <1>

Long Green is then shown on the County Series at 1:2500 Scale Epoch 1 Historic Map (1874-1887). The green is completed overtaken by more recent buildings and can no longer be found on the modern map. <2>
