Full Description

Watching brief in 1991. Visited in response to a report of 2.5m deep pit with high content of oyster in fill. Nothing observed as area concreted over when visited. The minister also reported subsidence nearby, over what is believed to be a filled-in well. Subsidence and pit locations plotted. According to Len Leach, the church stands in the former grounds of Wivenhoe Hall (demolished 1927). <1>
