Full Description

Construction of houses in the garden of St Mary's Cottage. Near the centre of the site was a small pit with burnt sides - possibly a medieval lime kiln, though not quite circular and smaller than normal. Two sherds of grass tempered pot indicated Anglo-Saxon activity.<1>
