Full Description
Excavation prior to construction of a new road. Trial excavation in 1971 in the garden of 22 Crouch Street. Topsoil was at least 2m in depth. In the upper metre of soil the tops of four pits were detected of C15-C16 date. Since the site was in the area of the proposed roundabout, and was not going to be disturbed, excavation ended. <1>
