Full Description
Watching brief for housing development, the new buildings erected on piles. Near the S boundary of the site beneath c.3m of topsoil was a 1m thick layer of Roman dumped material in situ - sandy loam containinf fragments of charcoal, tile, oyster shell and pottery of C2-C3 date. It seems to be a pocket of material left in situ in an otherwise eroded slope. <1>
