Full Description

"So-called `Circus' on Grammar School playing field", ditch in the same field (c.TL 98092445 to 98302451). Trenches were cut by AF Hall in the playing field over the possible line of a Roman road. Subsoil here is gravel which when exposed showed no traces of remains of a road bank, nor of marginal ditches though a ditch was found (Hull's site 179), possbily that of a minor rampart almost on the line of the one remaining at the S end of Bluebottle Grove. <1>
