Full Description

Red pavement said to have been seen behind two houses just NW of the Nelson's Head Inn and partly in the NW corner of the Inn yard. This is recorded in Hull but the original source is not given. Also an ancient well was found under the eastern of the two houses, opposite to the entrance of Garden Court. It was about 14ft deep and lined with stone with channels of Roman tile running into it from east and west. Wall footings are also reported about 10ft south of the same house.<1>
