Full Description

In 1892 altertions to a house belonging to Mr Locke (18 Queen Street) involved the removal of a large brick chimney breast which was found to have been built upon an ornamental mosaic pavement of considerable size and which extended over much of the house. Parts of it were taken to the Museum. <1> <2> Other ref. <3> <4> Mosaic with spiral border found in 1892 under an old chimney and extending under part of the house. <5>
