Full Description

A rubble foundation 2ft wide found 3ft below the surface of the E pavement of Pelhams Lane near the N end and about 18" from the E building face. "At the time the writer thought it part of a curved wall but PG Laver saw it as straight, and we now incline to his view". It appeared to run N-S under the E pavement and was seen at a point only a few feet S of High Street. <1>
