Full Description

In 1928 foundations were cut for a warehouse for Messrs Woolwirth on ground immediately E of the Red Lion on Culver Street. The trench for the N wall, 48ft N of Culver Street exposed part of a wall running E-W consisting of 4-5 courses of septaria set in a yellowish mortar. There was only a 5ft lenght with broken ends. The top was c.4ft from the surface. <1>
