Full Description

Fragments of a Roman wall consisting of 10 courses of tiles on a rubble foundation are standing in the cellar of no.34 High Street on its E side. It seems to run E-W and its N face is 9.5ft S of the S building line of the High Street. The remaining brickwork is 2ft high and 2'1" wide, its top 22" below the level of the modern pavement. <1> Other ref. <2>
