Full Description

"In 1926-7 the present `Oak Hall' behind Messrs Wright's Restuarant on Culver Street was built and the level of the ground reduced". Remains of walls of septaria were observed, two running N-S and one E-W. They were very fragmentary and yielded no coherent plan. There were no floors. Much pottery was found including a grey jar, f.278, standing on two tiles, almost certainly a foundation offering, and coins of Vespasian, Salonina, Tetricus, Cl.Gothicus, Carausius, Allectus, Constantinopolis, Constantius II. <1>
