Full Description

During alterations to Winsley's House (Insula 23), one of the workmen reported that near the NW corner of the (interior) of the building he had struck Roman tiles belonging to a north-south wall. The depth was 5ft 6in. to 6ft. The north-south wall was 2ft thick and only 3ft below the surface.<1><2>
