Full Description

Water main trench cut in 1936 along Culver Street from Head Street. A Roman drain was found in this trench opposite the door of Messrs Benhams printing works, but only the top of its arch was exposed, at a depth of 5.5ft running N-S. The position appears to place it by the W side of the N-S street. It was observed by Mr EJ Rudsdale. <1>
