Full Description

During alterations to Winsley's House (Insula 23), one of the workmen reported that near the NW corner of the (interior) of the building he had struck Roman tiles belonging to a wall running east-west . The depth was 5ft 6in. to 6ft. The east-west wall was 3 courses high, 12-14in. thick, at 6ft down. See also MCC828.<1>
