Full Description

Roman road recorded in trench for water main. Laver believed he could trace the road westwards across the dyke but his records are not adequate to plot the course of it.<1><2>
When laying watermain along W side of Fitzwalter Rd cambered road of gravel exposed. Opposite D.W. Clarke's house, 2 feet 6 inches below surface. 18 inches wide centre line (of part exposed) was 5 feet S of boundary wall between Messrs Lazell and Clarke.<3>
