Full Description

Seven column pockets were dug at the Essex County Hospital, Graduates Medical Centre. These contained no significant features apart from a Roman pit in Pockets A and B. The pit seems to have been over 4m wide and at least 1m deep. It was only clipped in section. Various finds (X205) were recovered from L2. This was a Roman deposit about 80mm thick which probably sealed the pit. The remaining finds (X204) were unstratified. <2>
