Full Description

In 1935 the old `Waggon and Horses' was pulled down and a new building erected further W. Former cellars were extended westwards and the earth to the S also exposed. A clear section was obtained on the W side. Plate in this source. Very little could be recovered from these excavations. The pot includes a shoulder fragment of an amphora, f.182, with the letters FAL LOLL in red paint in 2 lines, 2 coins of M.Agrippa and Gallienus and a few fragments of pottery of C1 date. <1>
