Full Description

A decorated mosaic pavement was found in Osborne Street (therefore somewhere near )in 1901. It is represented by a small fragment donated to Colchester Musuem "in white, yellow, light blue and grey tesserae of small size". It was found while deepening a well on the premises of the Bull Hotel (now gone) somewhere * the pavement found in excavating for the Electric Light Works (see ). Hull recorded that the mosaic fragment is not now recognisable in the Museum. <1> - <4>
