Full Description

Bronze Age perforated greenstone axe-hammer, originally from the Evans Collection. In Ashmolean Museum. <1> <2> It was found at Colchester in 1854 by FG Booker and CS Warner, was given, possibly by the latter to the Ashmolean Museum and was originally in the Evans Collection. <3> The axe is made of porphyritic greenstone. Ground, long slender form with rounded butt. Length 6", width 4", thickness 4". Photo in this source. <4>
