Full Description

A trench was cut by Bryan Blake in 1962 across the line of a dyke at this point. There is no record of this in Colchester Museum except for four photographs in the Prehistoric Collection marked `Layer Dyke'. Mrs de Brisay remembers it as showing that the dyke ran north-west to south-east along the line of the road to Woodhouse Farm. <1> AP's of the dyke at this point in McMaster coll. <2>
