Full Description

Cropmark centred on above NGR; an enclosure formed by a `thick' (ie wide) cropmark. There is a suggestion of a double enclosure to the north. The cropmark is incomplete on the east side; other boundaries are dependant on it to the west of the enclosure. It is possibly Roman, it seems not to be a Medieval/post Medieval enclosure as there is nothing visible on the Tithe and Estate maps in the ERO. <1> <2> <3> <4> <5> <6> The cropmark plot shows a large circular enclosure to the south-west of the rectangular one, and other linear features including a possible trackway. <2>

Site Assessment = The site has apparently now been partly destroyed by a farm reservoir situated on top of it. <1>

No enclosures appear to have been mapped for the NMP, although several former field boundaries were <2> and no enclosures were visible on the avaliable aerial photographs for the NMP update 2011.
