Full Description

Roman pottery kiln found when digging the foundations for the NAAFI club. It is now under the middle of the west side of this building. It was used chiefly for the production of mortaria and cloour-coated ware, possibly at the end of the C3. Wheeler and Laver Schedule no.193. Hulls no.24. <1> Other refs given in source 1. <2> <3>
