Full Description

Sherds of post medieval pottery found by the owner and brought into the Section by John Hunter. The sherds included a base fragment of a salt-glazed Frechen stoneware jug from the German Rhineland (mid C16-late C17); 1 body and 1 rim sherd of Staffordshire-type slip-trailed ware (C18); 2 body sherds of red earthenware, probably of local manufacture (C18); and part of a red earthenware lid or flanged rim dish which looks modern. <1><2> Finds with the owner. <3>
