Full Description

Demolished. C10 open hearth found. <1> A large high-roomed timber-framed house in one span with later additions along the north side. The floor above the principal room appeared to have been inserted after building: this was presumably a C10 (surely not!) open- hearth house, heavily timbered. A stud in an inside wall was 14" wide. Demolished to make way for Greater Tiptree and unrecorded by RCHM. <2>
