Full Description

Roman Road I at Sheepen, running East-West through the entrance of the dyke. Its gravel surface was typically thin and hard and, inside of its actual edges, never cambered. The line of the Road was traced for about 60m, from just to the West of Sheepen Dyke's entrance to a large sand pit which cut its course to the East of the dyke.<1>
