Full Description

2008:
Standing on the seawall south of Langenhoe Marsh is what appear to be an observation post. It is a small square building built of concrete with an entrance to the rear and a wide look-out window to the front and side. Immediately in fromt is a flag pole.

It appears clear that as the area is part of Fingringhoe Ranges, this building would have been used to provide shelter for those on watch duty, with their warning flag, when the ranges were operational. The date of its construction is unknown although it can been seen on 1960 aerial photographs <1>. There are two photos of the site <2>.

2009:
Following examination of the 1946 RAF photographs, the observation post appears to be present <3>.
