Full Description

2008:
Standing on the seawall North of Langenhoe Marsh is an observation post. It is a small square building, built of concrete with an entrance in the rear and a wide look out window in the front and side which has now been closed with steel sheeting. Immediately in front is a flagpole.

As the areas is part of Fingringhoe ranges, this building would have been used to provide shelter for those on watch duty with their warning flag when the ranges were operational. The date of its construction is unknown although it can be seen on 1960s aerial photographs <1> There are two photos of the site <2>

2009:
Observation post appears to be on 1946 aerial photograph <3>
