Full Description
Signpost. 1920s/1930s. Cast iron. Manufactured by Maldon Iron Works. A circular section tapered post with flat semicircular parish plate finial reading PARISH OF / LAYER DE LA HAYE and E.C.C. / STICK NO BILLS in centre. Four 7-inch arms but only (1) is original. Arms read (1) BIRCH 2¼ / LAYER BRETON 2¼ (2) ABBERTON 2 ¾ / WEST MERSEA 8 (3) WIGBOROUGH / TOL D’ARCY B1026 (4) COLCHESTER B1026. <1> Probably part of Maldon Iron Works order No.1288 dated 30/9/1936. <2>
