Full Description

Signpost. 1920s/1930s. Cast iron. Manufactured by Maldon Iron Works. A circular section tapered post with flat semicircular parish plate finial reading PARISH OF / MESSING and E.C.C. / STICK NO BILLS in centre. Two original 7-inch arms reading (1) KELVEDON (2) MESSING STREET / EASTHORPE. A third arm is a wooden replacement reading TIPTREE <1>
Maldon Iron Works order No.R/927 dated 30/8/1932 for Lexden and Winstree Rural District. <2>
Complete restoration 2006 by Signpost Restoration Ltd, Lanercost, Cumbria including new cast arm reading TIPTREE / MALDON. <3>
