Full Description

Contemporary records state, “Storehouse for explosives. Bridgewick Hall, Chappel. Land adj. residence. Map ref. 343468”.<1> Bridgewick Hall lies to the W of The Street, Chappel and 1946 aerial photographs show the grounds behind, to the N of, the house to have been extensive. However, no ammunition shelter can be made out beneath the many trees which dotted the area. Without more evidence the NGR above is a position some 50 yards N of the house.
