Full Description

The dairy comprised a square room with a single window and doorway which was attached to an octagonal room with 3 windows. The windows were orientated to the W, N and SE. The walls awere a single brick thick and laid in Flemish bond. The light grey brick was the same as that used for Walnut Cottage and brick details comprised cant brick sub sills to windows and squints to the corners of the octagon. The roof finish was slate laid at 40 degrees with lead rolls to hips and a central lead finial. Internal finishes comprised red clay tiles to the entance room and red and buff tiles to the dairy, laid in a chequer pattern. The walls were finished in white glazed bricks or render up to dado level.The ceiling had a cornice and mouldings defining each ceiling plane. The ceiling finish was painted plaster. Remaining fixtures included a slate worktop cround four sides of the octagonal room. The worktop was fitted to the room and was supported ontimber brackets. <1>
