The Ice house was situated to the NW of the house and south of Walnut Tree Cottage. It comprised a brick-lined cylindrical pit of 3.45m diameter and 4.2m depth, with a domed superstructure of brick construction with a render finish. The dome was partly concealed by grading. The pit was accessed via a brick enclosure with an internal height of 1.66m. The entrance faced N to minimise solar gain. The entrance roof was constructed using terracotta tiles spported on timber beams and rendered externally. The red brickwork of the ice house appeared to be contemporary with the surrounding outbuildings and main house. <1>
