F.Inf.: The Stanway brickworks of Colliers was mainly managed by Capt. Samuel Edward Collier, M.C., (1890-19 ) who was a son of William Homan Collier of Marks Tey. When the brickworks closed, Capt. Collier and his brother, Richard Collier, established the business of sand, gravel, lime and cement merchants trading as Collier Brothers. This firm was later incorporated as Collier (Stanway) Limited. The company later evolved into Building and Civil Engineering Merchants which is still trading as Collier and Catchpole Limited at Stanway and Ipswich.
Con.: The site is now covered with buildings associated with the business of builders merchants and there are no buildings surviving of the former brick works.
Any archaeological remains have probably been destroyed.
