The treatment works was constructed in the 1930s and a pump house was added in 1939. The latter comprises a two-storey front section, a double height pump house with workshop and two single-storey workshops to the rear. The roof is flat behind a rendered brick parapet. The red brick walls have a projecting band at dado level and a plinth. All windows are metal with central pivot opening lights. <1>.
