Single storey weatherboarded building with tiled gable roof. Much altered with no windows on Halstead Road and Green Lane frontages and with large modern linked extension to south.The building is known as Toll House Cottage and is on the formerly turnpiked Colchester to Halstead road. It is shown, but not annotated, on the 25" second edition OS map. Recent extensive alterations have been carried out, presumably without building recording being undertaken, the opportunity to establish the significance of this building and retain historic elements may therefore have been lost. <1>.
